Friends,

We are only days away from the official end of our Kickstarter campaign.  As you may know, over 4,000 people backed the project to the tune of over $250,000!

Those funds will not be available to us through Kickstarter and those who have pledged WILL NOT be charged for those pledges.  That is why we are asking those who have backed us on Kickstarter to take one more step.  To donate that same pledged amount via PayPal or by check.  You can find the information on how to do either right now at http://benswann.com/contribute/  or look on the right hand side of the homepage.

If you make that donation before midnight July 27, 2013, you will still receive the reward promised at Kickstarter.

Thank you again for your support and having the courage to stand with us.

      Thank you for your support!

  • Jason

    Can you take Bitcoins?

    • http://benswann.com/ Sam

      Hi Jason,
We are working on that option. Thank you for your support.

  • srmmedia

should have used indiegogo , they allow you to claim whatever amount you raised regardless of your goal.

  • Joshua David Huizing

donation sent–keep up the great work

  • Justin Green

Ben, maybe doing something like kickstarter, but say once a month, or quarterly. Sort of like a money bomb, with lower goals of say $20,000 or less, and whatever goes over is perfectly fine.

  • Justin Green

I’m willing to donate $50 per month to help wake americans and the world up. If 4,000 other people would do the same. Simple math. $200,000

  • Windy

Ben, have you considered joining up with the Ron Paul Channel? Seems like you both have similar goals, and may be able to support each other … you know, synergy and all that ;-)

  • Anonyomous

eesh, using kickstarter was a huge mitsake. Hopefully you can still get to the $250k again, but I’m not expecting that unfortuantely.

  • Daniel Lintz

I think posting how much you’ve received in donations, thus far, would actually motivate people to switch/donate more. It’s why kickstarter does it. -unless you already have, and i’m just to ignorant to look around! :)

    • http://benswann.com/ Sam

Hi Daniel, we have added how many episodes have been funded to the top right hand side of the site just above the donation button. Thank you so much for your support.

      • PSC1974

How about a ticker on RPFs?

  • Ray

Glad to see that you had a good amount of support, even though the target wasn’t reached. It was a good first run, please don’t stop trying!

  • Doug Dale

I was thinking the same thing about a ticker or something to show what the paypal donation total is.

    • http://benswann.com/ Sam

Hi Doug, we have added how many episodes have been funded to the side bar on the right. Thank you for your support!

  • Jeffrey Main

Benn, you should run a campaign on http://www.fundanything.com rather than kickstarter. You you don’t have to meet the goal to get whatever funding your raise. This is the campaign I launched. http://fundanything.com/en/campaigns/awakening-in-the-deep-end#

  • http://benswann.com/ Sam

We have added the dollar amount raised to the top right hand side of the website right above the donate button. We have raised over $65,000 so far. Thank you all for your support! Together we can bring back Truth in Media.

  • Lisa

    Indigogo would be another option.

  • http://techshift.net/ Set

just donate brother. Don’t give up the cause!

  • Alice Roberts

Cancelled Kickstarter pledge….doubled my donation via PayPal… Good luck and can’t wait to see what you produce :)

  • codematrix

Ben, I’m Canadian. Am I allowed to pledge? Please advise.

    • http://benswann.com/ Sam

Hello! Yes people outside the US can contribute. Thank you so much for your support!

  • Kimberly

Ben, I cancelled my kickstarter pledge and also doubled my donation on Paypal! I appreciate what you do.

    • Chuck (Smithfix) Smith

      Me too!

      • Jonathan Tran

        Same here!

  • TRprepper

Just made my donation Ben I hope it works this time!

  • Brian Hawkins

I think many are slower to move on than Ben is. I have that sort of optimism that says, “It’s not over ’til it’s over.” I will move my pledge (and increase it), but not just yet. I suppose many of the “follow the crowd” type need to see a lot happening before they join, but I’m the opposite. I already know what I’m going to do, I just like to see what others can accomplish first.

  • J Johnson

Can we do that mothly recurring donations like we do for EFF or some people do for forums and the like?

    • http://benswann.com/ Sam

      Hi J,
We have just added the option to do a monthly contribution. Visit http://benswann.com/contribute/ and scroll down.

      Thank you for your support!

      • J Johnson

Good I already contributed more than my kickstart pledge but I sent a recurring donation as well.

  • Jnsb28

contributed what I could defiantly excited for the news that all Americans should be opening there eyes too. Stay safe

  • Slim_Strontem

    Ben,
Where are the details on the “Kickstarter Agreement”.

  • thebearded1

Working with others here in RI to get out the word about your good and aggressive effort! Just switched out the donation to paypal a few minutes ago. No problem, and your explanation is very clear (as is everything you seem to do) and much appreciated.

Dave Gibbons wrote that ‘it’s disappointing how few people have moved their donations. The validity of the cause hasn’t changed!’

Dear Mr. Gibbons, I would say many are cautious but also committed, and as Mr. Swann said, he would have strategized differently. Who does not learn whenever doing anything, to then proceed differently?

One hundred episodes is a considerably different investment than twenty episodes. In a manner of speaking, twenty episodes is one month’s worth of news. Whereas, 100 episodes is five months of news, and I imagine people want to know that there’s at least going to be 20 episodes before committing. Anything less than 20 episodes may be the equivalent to buying a rack and pinion system but never having the funding to finish the automobile or have the opportunity to prove its abilities.

No doubt, plans were frustrated when motivation declined as the pledges started to drop, and the decline prompted me not to follow through with a number of sensitive contacts that I had planned on involving in the last week, contacts capable of donating considerably.

Nevertheless, though I may disagree with the way this major decision was handled and may believe asking the backers would have been productive, I am not managing this project and am unable to see the details. In addition, I believe 20 episodes will be an awesome catalyst. However, $75,000 is only 6 episodes and a tougher position to stimulate more interest from others yet involved.

Out of the polarizing issues of today called news, are we not searching for unity when their tactic is to fragment; our need is to create trust and reeducation, to reestablish traditions unshakable, principles that because of self-preservation will not be moved from the collective mind of our society, to fundamentally understand the intimate responsibility of securing our homes is the same as taking care of his or her nation.

Every adult should hold to and every child raised to understand these principles—the principle not to become senseless through a system so-called education, to identify when media has become a monolith of antitrust, propagandizing in advertisements, textbooks, and major productions; with covertly unprincipled messages of irresponsibility, they should be recognized, to identify their system of corruption in its infancy, to then take responsibility for the legislature empowering their deeds.

When the Pentagon makes quid pro quo arrangements with Hollywood to allow the censoring of movies, or when Attorney General Eric Holder is found in criminal and civil contempt of Congress, and a President pardons criminals, the silent legislature is in disdain of the people and themselves.

If we are to remain a privileged people, a people committed to posing the truths that bear these things out, we must not allow ourselves to be demoralized from the careless wars but be committed to stopping them, desensitized from prevailing indecency but expose it, nor complacent from hopeless states when hope is available.

Sincerely, Joseph C. Carbone III; 23 July 2013

Well, my first participation in a Kickstarter is over, but I prefer direct donations than funding a company like Amazon.

Amazon with the United States Federal Government hurt the flow of information by attacking Wiki-Leaks, basically attacking us—America and the principles for which it stands, “[…] one Nation under God, [constitutionally] indivisible, with liberty and justice for all,” for all, not an oligarchic few Mr. Bush, Mr. Cheney, Pres. Obama, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton, Sen. Feinstein, Amazon, MasterCard, PayPal, and Visa.

Amazon, MasterCard, PayPal, and Visa attacked WikiLeaks effectively forbidding us from donating to the organization, no less after they controlled a monopolistic portion of one segment of liberty, not far from our ability to speak.

You have lots of support Mr. Swann, as my great uncle once said, ‘work hard, keep clean, and you will achieve’ in this age and the next.

To Sam and the rest of the team let us go forward together!

Sincerely, Joseph C. Carbone III; 25 July 2013

Things got tighter here at the end of the month than I’d expected, but donation increased. We need this.

  • William Cranmer

    Hi Ben and Team,

I had to crunch the numbers and after I checked it you were trying to raise 1.25 million for the 100 episodes which came out to be $12,500 per show. Since this is a grass roots concept, have you thought about crunching the numbers and reaching out to the fans to see if we can find work a rounds to cut costs? I can understand you feeling the need to put this together yourselves but perhaps the fans who want to see this project start and continue and have already donated can be creative. I have a good feeling if you can get this going for about a year or two you will find some serious financial backers to keep it going. I like the monthly plan and will look in to that along with my initial donation that gave. “Creativity is the key to success.” (someone famous said it I’m sure, I just don’t know who right now)
