Exclusive: Sources Inside The BLM and Las Vegas Metro Say Feds Are Planning A Raid On Bundy Home

Bunkerville, NEVADA, April 14, 2014– As reported yesterday, hundreds of federal agents are still at the Bundy Ranch and the area continues its status as a no-fly zone. Despite major media reports that the Nevada Bureau of Land Management is retreating, the remaining activity that still surrounds the ranch illustrates a different scenario.

Not only is the BLM not actually backing off of Cliven Bundy, Sheriff Richard Mack of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association has revealed stunning information: on Ben Swann’s radio program, Mack said that he has received intelligence from multiple, credible sources inside the BLM and the Las Vegas Metro that there is “no question” that the federal government is planning a raid on the Bundy home and the homes of their children who live on the property.


According to Mack, the so-called retreat was nothing more than theatrics. “It was a ploy to get people to back off, to get people out of the way. They weren’t expecting us to get this amount of people here. They were surprised by the numbers and so they wanted a way to get us out of here. This was a ploy to get us out of here and then they’re going after the Bundys.”  Mack said that when he was at the Bundy ranch on Saturday there were an estimated 600 to 800 protesters present when federal agents were releasing the cattle.

“If they do that kind of raid, I don’t believe there’s any way that could happen without bloodshed,” Mack told Swann.

Mack spoke about the tactic that protesters could use by putting women at the front of the line facing the federal agents to make them think carefully before opening fire.

“I would’ve gone next. I would’ve been the next one to be killed. I’m not afraid to die here. I’m willing to die here,” said Mack.

Mack said that he had been told by Bundy that the federal government is actively shutting down the ranching industry, specifically in Clark County. He also revealed that there used to be 53 ranches in Clark County. All of those ranchers have been put out of business, except for Bundy who is still trying to hold on. “Every American should be outraged by it,”  said Mack. The ranch has been in Bundy’s family since 1877.

Mack decried Nevada governor Brian Sandoval for declaring this situation unconstutional while doing nothing to stop it. “He could have called in the state’s national guard, could have called in the sheriff’s office, could have called in highway patrol, and he’s done nothing except assail what’s going on. That’s easy, that’s cowardly.”

Sheriff Mack also called out media including radio host Glenn Beck who he says is siding with the BLM on this issue.

“I can’t believe that there are some Americans, and some media like Glenn Beck, that are supporting the BLM in this and it’s absolutely disgraceful.”

    The BLM was forced to back down as shown on the infowars video of the event, because they were in a very poor tactical position. They did not expect the people to stand firm. They wanted to separate the Bundys from the crowd so that they could be executed while resisting arrest.

    They were forced to pull back, but they will go after the Bundys and anyone else who stands in the way, when they have the tactical advantage.

    Everyone who can afford to travel there should go. Some of us are broke and can’t travel, because when we were in a similar situation as the Bundy family, no one was there to help.

    This is how we turn this around. We need to hang together or hang separately. Hundreds of thousands of men who would love to be there, can’t be there, because we’ve allowed them to be incarcerated by the prison industrial complex.

            Basically Bundy claims family grazing rights to the land since his family had been using it some 1877. The land belonged to nobody as far as they can find on record. The government just Cain in and claimed it for federal land. They didn’t purchase it. Which is what they did to all of Bundys neighbors who were ranchers. They all paid grazing fees until they were put out of business. Bundy refused to pay any fees because he believes that his gracing rights superceded the BLM. I don’t disagree with him. If his family had been using that land since before the BLM was created who are they to tell him no. And also those fees should be paid to the state not the Federal Government.

Bundy tried to pay the state the money but the state doesnt want it. the federal government is not allowed to OWN any land per the constitution. so to say they own the land is silly at best. and then to say they have the right to charge a fee when the states says he can graze there is blatant over stepping of powers. even if its a law they are trying to enforce they are government employees who first and foremost have a oath to up hold the constitution not the laws arbitrarily implemented by government agencies without congressional oversight.

    What still isn’t clear to me is, who owns that land, who is supposed to rightfully own that land, and how can it be proven who is supposed to rightfully own that land? If they don’t technically own the land their cows are grazing on, why are people supporting them? If BLM stole the land from them, why isn’t anyone providing documentation to support this?       The BLM (Bureau of Land Management) is supposed to help the farmers by fixing broken fences, protecting stuff and generally helping out. In return the ranchers pay a yearly fee. Since 93 the BLM altered the way they conduct business. This alteration went against everything that had come before and since it was never brokered legally, Bundy began his protest. What you see unfolding is the outcome.

      The government is acting illegally and unconstitutionally. The 2nd Amendment was written for us, We the People, to defend ourselves against an out of control government. That’s exactly what those folks are doing down there in Nevada right now.

      You can own surface rights and below surf race rights aka as mineral rights. I happen to own mineral rights in PA but not the actual land they are under. These rights were bought by mr great grandfather over a 100 years ago. And were passed down in my family. So, he doesn’t own the entire 600,000 acres but he owns the right to graze there. It’s public land that is owned by the state, not the Feds even though they claim it.

      I heard the family worked out a deal for the land use rights with the state and paid them for years. The families built the infrastructure, roads, dams, etc. to support their business. The feds didn’t arrive until 20 years ago under the guise of “helping” the ranchers manage their resources. It was the first act of the liberals “nanny stating” and insinuation by the libs that they knew better than the ranchers about managing the resources. They initially helped the farmers but not long after they turned on the ranchers and started working against them. That’s when they made up the story about the tortoises. That’s when Bundy stopped paying them. It’s clear they don’t want the ranchers there. They bullied all the others to sell their land use rights back to them and Bundy is the last hold out. Now notice they act like their is NO land use “contract” and that Bundy is just hanging around on government land. They also reduced the number of cattle he’s allowed down to 150, a number that won’t even sustain a ranch. Just sleezy, commie tactics.

      The Feds took control during the dust bowl. They were supp to sign that land back over to the ranchers and/or the State. Instead, they struck a deal that they would “manage” the land (take care of the water supplies, etc…) Well, of course that didn’t last. The ranchers were paying “grazing fees” which was supposed to go towards the “maintenance”. The BLM did not hold up their end, so Cliven Bundy stopped paying these “Grazing fees to the feds” , (I believe he was still paying them to the State though) and the Bundy’s started maintaining the water systerns and waterways themselves. They own (thru inheritance as well as purchased) the grazing rights and the water rights to that land. Sorry for all the spelling mistakes, in a hurry :)

      Cliven Bundy owns 160 acres, and has been grazing on 600,000 acres of “public land”. That land is not actually owned by anyone; it is put to use by policies agreed upon at the county, state and federal level. Over time, BLM has acquisitions and disposals of public land, i.e. land moving from public to state and state to public. Bundy paid grazing fees for that land until 1993, when the tortoise scare was raised, and the deal changed to a much more limited number of cows allowed on the acreage. This is how they got rid of the ranchers. Trying to keep a ranch and stay within the grazing rights limits was no longer economically feasible. Everyone else went out of business. Cliven refused the new arrangement. He would have gone out of business if he had taken the cut in cattle. The tortoise preserve is a scam. There have been cows and turtles there since the Bundys arrived. I’d have to call that sustainable.

      You make an interesting point about it being about the people, because the USA is the people. That said, I want to clear something up. This is corruption, no doubt, but when Nevada became a state in 1864, 90% of the land was still federal “public land” as a part of that statehood deal. Bundy owns 160 acres – developed, and they have no right whatsoever going onto those acres or the people there. As far as the legalities go, Clark County and Nevada State officials have approved of redesignating the public lands as a tortoise zoo. When they use conservationists, it’s a piece of cake, because those are people who will support the removal of the entire human race, sure enough, and they’re wrong about the turtles. There are turtles and cows there since the 1880s, and they’re all still there. It’s all part of a crooked ploy to remove all the ranchers, and practiced in other states as well – it’s Agenda 21. But the pressure is on against Nevada officials, such as in Clark County and the governor’s office. I’m sure the governor knows exactly what’s going on. The reason why the land designation was changed was because it was approved by in-state officials as well. None of them should publicly survive this. Take care.

        I agree that applies to the 160 acres the homes are on. The other 600,000 have never been privatized (that I know of). They are “public lands”, which was part of the deal for statehood in 1864. That also means the feds don’t own it; they manage it by policies approved at the state and federal levels. In 1993, the big desert tortoise scare was raised, and so the policy change was a greatly reduced number of cows, to have the grazing rights. The other ranchers lost their ranches, but Bundy refused the change. It’s really just Agenda 21. That’s why I posted the links above; conservationists swayed by this thinking have been led down the garden path. And, in-state officials also need to be held accountable for their part in approving of the changes that shut down the ranchers.

The Federal government got it in a treaty in 1848, and unless Art IV Sec 3 Cl 2 of the Constitution has been amended since our founding, or unless Congress has transferred it (as they explicitly said they weren’t doing in Nevada’s enabling act, just as they have for every state carved out of federal territory since Ohio in 1802), it still belongs to the United States government.

            They have ASSUMED it since then under color of “might makes right”.

            As for the State of Nevada and the private citizens who believe they own property there, they were led to believe by the Fed gov. that the fed gov had title, and proceeded to steward the land in good faith over time, therefore they are more entitled to claim title than the feds are.

            As for the agreement that Nevada made regarding the “unappropriated” land, they have decided that the federal government is mismanaging that land to the detriment of their state’s citizenry and are actively challenging them by legislation and force of arms, if you hadn’t noticed.

            I have lived in the desert steppe and like environments. I am also a farmer and know animals. I also studied the history of the area and the nature of the relationships of the flora and fauna in the history of that area. I also have common sense. The entirety of Gold Butte is HUGE, and can support 10x that amount of ruminants. As a matter of fact, ruminants are ESSENTIAL for the survival of the desert tortoise because of their direct symbiotic relationship. Not only that but the cattle BENEFIT the type of scrub by pruning it and keeping it healthy and even fire resistant, encouraging stronger roots thus preventing erosion, I could go on and on.

            And Mr Bundy claimed to have done an experiment with HIS herd (branded being less than 500) where he ran them through a narrow gate and placed a rock the size of a tortoise and painted as such, and NOT ONE stepped on it.

            I’ve only seen one or two desert tortoises during my time camping, and I’ve camped their a fair number of times, I wouldn’t notice if they were all gone. I’m more referring to the damage they’ve absolutely done to the native vegetation. Mammals larger than 200lbs aren’t native to the area, and stirring up the the alkaline soil, in addition to their fecal matter, creates an environment for invasive species that choke out the native species.

            Gold Butte already has native ruminants, mule deer and mountain goats, that don’t cause quite the amount of damage to the soil that cattle do. That said, I’m not really arguing my camping is worth more than him running his cattle there, just that there has certainly been damage.

            I would agree the impact of cattle would be significant if there were more of them. But the number of head compared to the amount of space is not significant enough. They move slowly, are actually quite sensitive about their hoof placement. I have a hard time believing their fecal matter would change the ph of the soil so drastically to allow an invasive species to flourish (introduced from where?) when most of the soil will remain unaffected, but I have not studied that. I agree they would compete with native ruminants.

            That said, there are other ways of cattle management even in a desert that can address all that, but old ignorant habits die hard. Dependence on a beef diet is also a “sacred cow” that causes more problems then it is worth, but again that is another discussion. If I lived there, I would be vocally against cattle ranching as it is done now, but would lobby for viable solutions and not try to FORCE ANYONE to do anything.

            Nothing in the text of the Constitution says that at all. But Article IV Sec 3 Cl 2 clearly states only Congress can control property or territory belonging to the United States. Since Congress, when it accepted Nevada as a state, conditioned entry on respect for federal title, if you’re right that the fed can’t own land inside a state, then Nevada simply hasn’t met a condition of it’s enabling act, and the whole thing will revert to a territory. The Constitution is clear on who controls federal property and territory, it says nothing about all the property going to a state when formed out of a federal territory, you’re just making that up out of nothing.

          The deal when NV became a state in 1864 was that 90% of it was designated “public land”. The feds do not own that. They manage it. Also, for any public lands in the state, both the state and feds have to approve of land policies for it to be legal, by either state or federal law. They both say it. I would like the people of Western states to know that in-state politicians are equally responsible for what policies are put into existence, because too many people I know think all public lands are “owned” by the feds. We need to hold our in-state people responsible.

The feds were supposed to gradually over time “appropriate” those lands to Nevada, but never did. That is the problem the people of Nevada face. The feds are crooked and have remained owners and in control of lands they basically promised to sell to Nevada.

        How does the federal government owning this land (which they have since 1848) go against the wishes of the founding fathers and the Constitution? When Ohio was formed as a state in 1802 out of the Northwest Territory, the federal government retained title to all the public lands, just as it did when Nevada became a state, and then the federal government sold it all off over time. Nobody thought that was unconstitutional, were all of the founding fathers dead then?

        Article II, Section 2, Cl 2 gives the government the power to make treaties, like the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848 and that transferred this land to the United States. Article IV Section 3 Cl 2 makes clear that Congress controls the territory and property of the United States, and that only it can dispose of said property. Congress has never done so, therefore under the Constitution, the land still belongs to the United States.

So my dad just went on running his ranch and making his own improvements with his own equipment and his own money, not taxes. In
          essence the BLM was managing my dad out of business. Well when buying him out didn’t work, they used the endangered species card. You’ve already heard about the desert tortoise. Well that didn’t work either, so then began the threats and the court orders, which my dad has proven to be unlawful for all these years. Now their desperate. It’s come down to buying the brand inspector off and threatening the County Sheriff.
          Everything their doing at this point is illegal and totally against the constitution of the United States of America.

          Now you may be saying,” how sad, but what does this have to do with me?” Well, I’ll tell you. They will get rid of Cliven Bundy, the last man standing on the Bunkerville allotment and then they will close all the roads so no one can ever go on it again. Next, it’s Utah’s turn. Mark my words, Utah is next. Then there’s the issue of the cattle that are at this moment
          being stolen. See even if dad hasn’t paid them, those cattle do belong to him. Regardless where they are they are my fathers property. His herd has been part of that range for over a hundred years, long before the BLM even existed. Now the Feds think they can just come in and remove them and sell them without a legal brand inspection or without my dad’s
          signature on it. They think they can take them over two boarders, which is illegal, ask any trucker. Then they plan to take them to the Richfeild Auction and sell them.             NRS 321.596  Legislative findings.  The Legislature finds that:

            1.  The State of Nevada has a strong moral claim upon the public land retained by the Federal Government within Nevada’s borders because:

            (a) On October 31, 1864, the Territory of Nevada was admitted to statehood on the condition that it forever disclaim all right and title to unappropriated public land within its boundaries;

            (b) From 1850 to 1894, newly admitted states received 2 sections of each township for the benefit of common schools, which in Nevada amounted to 3.9 million acres;

            (c) In 1880 Nevada agreed to exchange its 3.9-million-acre school grant for 2 million acres of its own selection from public land in Nevada held by the Federal Government;

            (d) At the time the exchange was deemed necessary because of an immediate need for public school revenues and because the majority of the original federal land grant for common schools remained unsurveyed and unsold;

            (e) Unlike certain other states, such as New Mexico, Nevada received no land grants from the Federal Government when Nevada was a territory;

            (f) Nevada received no land grants for insane asylums, schools of mines, schools for the blind and deaf and dumb, normal schools, miners’ hospitals or a governor’s residence as did states such as New Mexico; and

            (g) Nevada thus received the least amount of land, 2,572,478 acres, and the smallest percentage of its total area, 3.9 percent, of the land grant states in the Far West admitted after 1864, while states of comparable location and soil, namely Arizona, New Mexico and Utah, received approximately 11 percent of their total area in federal land grants.

            2.  The State of Nevada has a legal claim to the public land retained by the Federal Government within Nevada’s borders because:

            (a) In the case of the State of Alabama, a renunciation of any claim to unappropriated lands similar to that contained in the ordinance adopted by the Nevada constitutional convention was held by the Supreme Court of the United States to be “void and inoperative” because it denied to Alabama “an equal footing with the original states” in Pollard v. Hagan, 44 U.S. (3 How.) 212 (1845);

            (b) The State of Texas, when admitted to the Union in 1845, retained ownership of all unappropriated land within its borders, setting a further precedent which inured to the benefit of all states admitted later “on an equal footing”; and

            (c) The Northwest Ordinance of 1787, adopted into the Constitution of the United States by the reference of Article VI to prior engagements of the Confederation, first proclaimed the “equal footing” doctrine, and the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, by which the territory including Nevada was acquired from Mexico and which is “the supreme law of the land” by virtue of Article VI, affirms it expressly as to the new states to be organized therein.

            3.  The exercise of broader control by the State of Nevada over the public lands within its borders would be of great public benefit because:

            (a) Federal holdings in the State of Nevada constitute 86.7 percent of the area of the State, and in Esmeralda, Lincoln, Mineral, Nye and White Pine counties the Federal Government controls from 97 to 99 percent of the land;

            (b) Federal jurisdiction over the public domain is shared among 17 federal agencies or departments which adds to problems of proper management of land and disrupts the normal relationship between a state, its residents and its property;

            (c) None of the federal lands in Nevada are taxable and Federal Government activities are extensive and create a tax burden for the private property owners of Nevada who must meet the needs of children of Federal Government employees, as well as provide other public services;

            (d) Under general land laws only 2.1 percent of federal lands in Nevada have moved from federal control to private ownership;

            (e) Federal administration of the retained public lands, which are vital to the livestock and mining industries of the State and essential to meet the recreational and other various uses of its citizens, has been of uneven quality and sometimes arbitrary and capricious; and

            (f) Federal administration of the retained public lands has not been consistent with the public interest of the people of Nevada because the Federal Government has used those lands for armament and nuclear testing thereby rendering many parts of the land unusable and unsuited for other uses and endangering the public health and welfare.

            4.  The intent of the framers of the Constitution of the United States was to guarantee to each of the states sovereignty over all matters within its boundaries except for those powers specifically granted to the United States as agent of the states.

            5.  The attempted imposition upon the State of Nevada by the Congress of the United States of a requirement in the enabling act that Nevada “disclaim all right and title to the unappropriated public lands lying within said territory,” as a condition precedent to acceptance of Nevada into the Union, was an act beyond the power of the Congress of the United States and is thus void.

            6.  The purported right of ownership and control of the public lands within the State of Nevada by the United States is without foundation and violates the clear intent of the Constitution of the United States.

            7.  The exercise of such dominion and control of the public lands within the State of Nevada by the United States works a severe, continuous and debilitating hardship upon the people of the State of Nevada.

            The Enclave clause is very specific about when the US government can purchase land from a state and gain sole jurisdiction. It says nothing about land held in a territory when that territory becomes a state.

            If you are going to argue the legal terms, then you are incorrect. Appropriation confers possession. Only the water rights and forage rights were appropriated, but since the feds retained ownership of the land, they were able to change the conditions of those rights by making them permissions by license. Not saying that is good or righteous, but it is what it is.

In 2007 Congress changed the law to state that the President has the power to take the National Guard out if the governor’s control and place it in the control of the federal government fit reasons such as a “natural disaster, epidemic, or other serious public health emergency, terrorist attack or incident”.

      Eminant domain call has a specific purpose, which is not profit taking by selling the property off to either corporations or foreign countries. Further, the Bundy’s land and situation does not fit in the Eminent domain category and that is why they have not used that excuse for what they are doing. Homeland Security is to us, what the equivalent “STorm troopers” was to Hitler….. they are there to enforce a police state “WORKING” for the fascist corporations who could care less about the peons they hire to do their slave labor for them. .         This was an eminent domain case from the very beginning. Had the government not stolen all of the lands around the Bundy ranch, there would be no issue with grazing on “public” lands. ALL federal land grabs involve eminent domain, whether or not it is called that. The government has NO authority to take ANY privately held land. The fact that the Fifth Amendment allows this with “just compensation” is proof that the government owns ALL land, and is the ultimate arbiter of what constitutes “just compensation.”

        This is FAR from the first test run. This has been going on since the founding of this country. Lincoln’s War of Genocide upped the ante, and the people have suffered every since. I believe that is why they left and sent in other fed agencies, but the sheriff is till higher than any of them and if he does not act, then get rid of him next election. Heck, elect a woman for crying out loud. I said several years ago, “if you want to end the war in Iraq quickly, here is how you do it…..Send all women who are premenapausal, and those on their period to Irag, and put them on one side of the country, and arm them. Then tell them their loved ones, spouses, children etc are on the other end of the country and that war will be over in less than a week. Woman are brave and vicious when called for.”

      We have a sheriffs race coming up and the two leading candidates have received mega money from out of state. What the heck are $10,000 campaign contributions doing coming into our podunk county sheriffs race? Just what are these people paying for, I asked myself? Given their power and potential to screw up the PTB’s plans, they have become the focus of the big guys in DC and around the country. So make sure this does not happen in your county.

      I would considered alleged non-payment of rent to be a civil matter. However, if I don’t pay my rent on my apartment for a period of time, eviction by the sheriff is an option that my landlord has, and all of my property gets put on the curb. Mr. Bundy has been in court over this matter and has lost. Where he might have a legal argument to stop the matter is if he can demonstrate that the BLM failed to act to remove him from the land in a timely way. This would open up the issue to the idea of “adverse possession”, where someone has possession of property for a number of years without paying for it, and if the owner does not act to remove the illegal tenant from the property, the occupant can lay claim to the property after about seven years.

        Huh? He does not owe the federal government rent on his property. He simply did not renew his license to graze on “public lands”, which got confiscated by the Federal gov, when it was “land that belonged to the public”, of the state of Nevada. What the hell are the feds doing in areas that were never theirs in the first place? Its by default that they prevailed. ALL OTHER RANCHES, could not pay the outrageous license fee they jacked up, to make these ranches go out of business, and that is why Bundy refused after awhile, since the BLM had no authority to do what it was doing. That is why it has taken 20 years to get him off his land. This was not a simple, eviction issue. It was a “who owns the public lands” issue.

        Utah is going through the same horrific problem right now, because the feds discovered Uranium on their “public lands” and arbitrarily confiscated that land and did so without the permission of Utah, and that now makes millions of acres they have confiscated from Utah. All Bundy is trying to do is stop this practice that many others should have stood on when it happened to them, but they were confused and uneducated.

        Bundy is not and that is why this is happening and I say he is an AMERICAN HERO WITH COURAGE GALORE AND I CELEBRATE HIM AND HIS COURAGE THE HIGH PRICE HE WILL PAY, IT MAY WELL INCLUDE HIS LIFE AND ITS NOT FOR HIM NOW, ITS FOR HIS COUNTRY. GOD BLESS YOU BUNDY AND I HOPE SOMEDAY TO DO THE SAME FOR MY COUNTRY. I served in the military and I still follow my oath of office.         Courts ruled blacks were sub-human and have support all sorts of unconstitutional, and even treasonous ‘laws’ over the years such as the FISA ‘general warrant’ that is a modern version of the general warrant the British used to find out who wasn’t paying tea taxes. It’s that general warrant idea that’s why we have a 4th amendment explicitly forbidding it. The courts still back it. He lost in court because it’s rigged- it’s a land grab(theft).

        Simply because a court rules that you have to give them your property doesn’t make it legal, especially when it flies in the face of what’s been established such as here, where the BLM actually BOUGHT some of those 53 ranchers out- thus acknowledging they owned(not rented) grazing rights as the Bundys have for generations.

        You are correct, it is a civil matter. This should have been a state issue…NOT federal. But, as you can see, it is the feds that want the property and are bullying their way in. When 53 ranches go belly up and only one remains, the Bundy Ranch…I’m going to guess there hasn’t been many subsidies floating around. If there has been subsidies it’s only for the feds to get their fingers in it. Just as they have done with our sheriff and police departments (through grants). Oh, and schools. Oh, yeah mortgages too. It has been a con all along to steal the property (and mineral) rights. It’s easy to provide money to ‘help’ all of these wonderful causes when you have a free printing press. Better yet it gives the control to the feds. Or so they think…

    Honestly I’m not sure about in Nevada but out here where I live in the middle of ranching country in Montana the government is not trying to shut down ranchers. They are given so much of our tax dollars its not even funny. I’m not sure if the Bundys have been takers of the many subsidies that are given to all the ranchers I know, but if they have I don’t think I can be on their side. I am all about fighting for our rights, and standing up for this country that belongs to us, but there is such a huge problem with ranchers they are basically big welfare recepients. Maybe I’m just bitter from being close to some of them and watching them leach everything they can off the tax payers back, and still act like they are owed something, that this is definitely not the battle I would have picked. As for glenn beck he showed his true colors during the last election when he purposely distracted people from the truth, so I will never be surprised when he sides with the government. I really would like to know if Bundys and his family have been takers of government money, because if they have been taking advantage of the system then they can’t really say much in my opinion. I can say that I am extremely pleased to see so many people show up to stand up for our rights though, even if its not the issue o would have picked.

        I never said I support what is going on there, but I’m just not sure the Bundy family is as much of a victim as they are being made to be. It always amazes me that if you try to look objectively at a situation you get called out as being a monster, or a liberal, or a crazy conservative, no matter what side you are on. I even said I was glad people were stepping up to fight, just that it wouldn’t have been my choice of issue to fight for. So we are getting worked up that this family can’t have their cows for free on our land correct? Hell I can’t even go cut down a tree, or shoot a deer, or catch a fish without having to pay a fee to the government. What makes the Bundy’s so special? I am not even saying that its right, but what made this issue the one we are going to pick to fight for. There have been so many greater losses of liberty. This just isn’t one I would have picked, and as I said its probably because I’ve been around enough ranchers that think they can continue to get money from the government for their land and then cry when the government comes and tries to takeh it. Here we have a family that inhereted the land from the government, are using public property for their private wealth, then crying that they have to pay some taxes for that land.

      In Montana, comparatively little of the land is controlled by the BLM. There is one big chunk by Fort Peck Lake that is BLM and a bunch of tiny chunks scattered over eastern Montana. The rest of Montana is mostly BLM free, so the BLM has little input into the major portion of Montana ranching. In Nevada’s case, it’s almost impossible to have a ranch that is not at least partially using BLM-controlled ground. Almost 3/4 of the land in Nevada is controlled by the BLM. This Nevada BLM ground is almost all land that has been grazed (which other than mining is the only real productive use for it) since the 1800′s, long before either the Taylor Grazing Act or the BLM. The U.S. Land office would grant an 80-acre or 160-acre core homestead near a potable water source and sell the homesteading rancher the perpetual grazing rights to a large desert grazing allotment (often in excess of 5000 acres of grazing). The original point of the BLM controlling these lands (from the 1940′s) was to “assist” in their management. Since at least the 1990′s, almost all BLM field offices in Nevada and many in Utah have been “assisting” ranchers right out of business. Open range ranchers seldom, if ever, even qualify for subsidies. Those usually go to dairies and feedlots and people with wheat, corn, or soybean fields. Also, factory meat farms receive huge subsidies. Subsidies are almost always given to those who lobby for them. Most desert ranchers are too independent to even consider lobbying for subsidies, let alone applying for them.

        Most of the ranches in my area are small ranches, where they don’t long, but still claim subsidies. So I’m not sure if its different there. They also like to make it look like their ranches make nothing so they can take advantage of much more of the government hand outs. My in laws get to collect unpaid wages because they don’t officially make any income yet are given a house, land, hundreds of heads of cattle (at over 1000 a head) and so on through the buisness, and use the company credit card for expenses. Its not counted as income. This is the case with most ranchers. Then their are land easments where the government will pay them for their land, but not allow them to cut the grass for a few years, or different rules depending on the contract. As I said it may be different out there, many ranchers make use of the blm land here, just not in as huge amounts, also since we have bad winters every ranch has a feed lot, to make it through the winter. Did the Bundys buy the graizing rights you were talking about? And I understand that it is public property, but living next to many ranchers, I have become quite bitter regarding their general sense of entitlement, so having only heard about this yesterday since I don’t watch news, and only check out sites like Ben Swanns every few days, I haven’t made much of an opinion, nor had a chance to learn more about this particular case.

        Funny how those “perpetual grazing rights” were “downgraded” with the Public Rangelands Improvement Act of 1978 when they became permit based leases to be renewed annually, and the terms of conditions changed over time as well.

        That act was meant to (5) prevent economic disruption and harm to the western livestock industry.

        yet the BLM was able to use its provisions to steal the grazing rights of 50 ranchers in Clark County Nevada, giving the BLM complete control over that land.

    All you Bundy fans are fools. Bundy isn’t anything other then a thief that is trying to manipulate people and profit from his bogus stand on “freedom”. This man’s fight isn’t about freedom, it’s about personal profit. Refusal to pay his grazing fees for 31 years while selling thousands of cattle. Nobody else can do this. Nobody else has twisted this all around into a “freedom issue”.

    All the faketriots that supported this guy show themselves to be without a moral compass like Bundy. Nobody has a “right” to 600,000 acres of public land to profit from without some kind of compensation.

    This is why I despise the faketriot movement – no moral compass, no ability to judge right from wrong, no standards on what is correct and what is not. The Bundy fiasco showed that faketriots for what they are – right wing nutcases supporting another right-wing fake. He was white, which had a lot to do with it too.

    The faketriots have only RARELY (if ever) come to the support the REAL freedom cases, laying it “on the line” for people who are losing land, homes and freedom. Thousands of people are being abused daily by the feds – but their cases and situations go completely ignored by the faketriots.

    Why did Bundy gain some support? I’m not sure, somebody manipulated the exposure and the storyline, but I’ve seen enough now to understand that this was NOT a case that required intervention by anyone. Bundy has lost his court cases for years and years, and was provably wrong on all claims. That fact that all this was ignored shows the faketriots for the hypocrites that they are.

    They’ve now done irreperable harm to themselves and the “movement” (if you can call it that, they’re not moving anywhere). By lending themselves to a false cause with false reasons and abandoning the moral high ground, they’ve given up the moral certainty of what they allegedly stood for. Now, we all wonder what they’ll do next – which cause will they support? And why should anybody trust them?

    I don’t and never did. It’s possible, even probable that they were manipulated into supporting this case, but I’ve not got any proof, just a suspicion, based on “Are they really that stupid?”. Perhaps they are, but no matter, I’ll keep my distance from the faketriots and let others either accept or deal with these clowns.

I don’t think its stupidity really, but just finally feeling like there was something there they could fight for, its really difficult to go into the capital with a gun, but you can stand between the blm and the cows. And farmers and ranchers are good at playing the victim. I don’t think people are fake patriots, but they get caught up in the storm because they are honestly sick of our own land being controlled by big government. And they get excited when they finally feel there is something they can do about it. Now those fenced in free speech areas are something worth fighting against!

      Bundy owns 160 acres from the use of the homestead act. He stopped paying grazing fees in 1993, due to the change in the deal at that time. At that time, it was $1.35/cow (with calf) per month. For 500 cows, that would be $8100/year, and could not possibly reach the $1.1 Million the BLM says. Bundy says $300,000, which doesn’t appear to be short of anything. The news grazing rights forced everyone out of the area, since the ranching would not be viable with 150 head. Work on your facts.

          that is not true. the plant life there is maintained and flourishes with grazing ruminants. There are a few native grazers as you mentioned, but after 150 years of cattle grazing, the land has adapted. The shrubs die if they are not regularly pruned by the grazing cattle. They have a symbiotic relationship.

      The Bundys cattle grazes on federal land. That land was Spanish/mexican land ceded to the Us in 1848 by treaty. From there it was considered unappropriated federally held land within the borders of the state of Nevada. Bundy’s forefathers bought forage and water rights to 200000 acres of that unappropriated land. The Feds had a deal with Nevada to gradually dispose all of that land to Nevada’s except what was needed for the Feds constitutional powers like military installations, national parks, etc. They screwed over Nevada to the point where in 2013 the Nevada Legislature declared the Feds continued ownership of those lands unconstitutional and null and void. But the feds don’t care and the BLM changed Bundy’s ancestral rights purchased in 1877 to a right by yearly permit, whose terms and conditions were the same that put the rest of the ranchers in that county out of business over the last 25 years.

This is valuable land, and, at near zero interest rates, with the carry trade funding the biggest land speculation bubble of all time, the Feds are looking to prime land like this to dice and slice and use for collateral to back up the new sub-prime real estate mortgage riot we’ll start hearing about tomorrow as land prices, once again, start to rise. The Bundy’s are standing in the way of the Federal land grab that’s going to be the surety for the yuan-backed bonds that the Fed will issue to try and finesse the defaulting Federal debt.

        Yes, but those who do not obey it, and who persist in their aggression against others, violating their natural rights…what can be done with them? It is morally and lawfully permissible to engage in self defense, which of course is the primary justification for the use of force, but also we need to think about how can we make these defensive actions also serve as effective deterrents?

        If armed people are coming onto your property, and pointing their weapons at you, I believe that the law of the land, and case law, and the rules of engagement as practiced by the government themselves, allows for the use of deadly force . If you are afraid for your life….and have the reasonable belief that you are in imminent danger of being the victim of great bodily injury or death (or that another person is), then you have the lawful right to use any force necessary, including deadly force, to negate that threat.

When the U.S. Constitution is again taught and respected, then the county sheriff would march out to the Bundy ranch and arrest BLM trespassers for assault and battery for using weapons on peaceful citizens. The BLM agents should be sitting behind bars right now waiting for arraignment. There is such a right as due process of law. None of us are allowed to use force against another under constitutional law.

    It is very easy to forget the purpose of government. Here is a quote from the Declaration of Independence:

    don’t think BLM is working very hard to secure this rancher’s rights.
    His right of use was grandfathered as an integral part of the property,
    and he was not only deprived of these rights without compensation
    (eminent domain) but was taxed for exercising them.
    It
    is also my understanding that there was no jury trial prior to
    confiscation of his cattle, which is a violation of the Seventh
    Amendment to the Constitution (we have the right to trial before being
    deprived of life, liberty or property):
    In
    suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty
    dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact
    tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any court of the
    United States, than according to the rules of the common law.
    Under
    common law when a public servant was found guilt at trial for using
    their public office to violate the rights of people, they were hanged by
    the neck until dead from the largest tree at the busiest intersection
    in the county as a warming to other public officials.
    So I think it’s time to go to Walmart and Home Depot for some sturdy rope.

      All that is important and noteworthy is that Bundy did not kiss government’s butt, and that CANNOT be tolerated, or more free people will think Government should listen to THEM, the Constitution and Declaration’s way, instead of Big Government’s failed policies. If people actually realize that their government are their servants, they will probably find themselves with more power and freedoms, (though not as much as Founders envisioned).

        Skip Patterson – You fail to go deeper into the intent of law. There are fundamental principles (Natural Law>Constitutional law) that most present-day laws violate inherently, ipso facto. As such, they are inherently null and void (16 Am. Jur. 2d, Sec. 178).

        It is the duty of the People to call out such bogus laws, and to ignore them. At the political level, such laws are to be nullified.

        If not, we end up with totalitarian gov’t and total misery for nearly everyone, including you.
